A transitional object is applied to something that serves as an intermediary for the formation of a third world. This world breaks the boundary between fantasy and reality and resides in a place between the two. Concerning the audience’s relationship with the media, this transitional object also transports the audience away from their everyday engagements and immerses them in the world of their imagination.
